Common faults of diesel generator sets and their solutions
H. The unit cannot reach the rated speed
1. When the unit is working in an overloaded state, the load should be reduced and used not to exceed the rated load of the unit.
2. There is an error in the setting of the speed potentiometer of the electronic speed regulator. Please refer to the instruction manual of the electronic speed regulator for correct setting or replacement.
3. The electronic speed control system is faulty and should be repaired or replaced.
4. If the throttle control of the mechanical speed regulating mechanism is improperly adjusted (or loose), it should be checked and adjusted.
5. If there is water in the fuel, the fuel should be replaced. It is recommended to install an oil-water separator.
6. If the third filter is not replaced in time, the third filter should be replaced regularly.
7. The frequency (tach) meter is faulty and should be replaced.
I. Crew tour bus
1. The throttle lever of the mechanical speed regulating structure is loose. It should be checked and adjusted to the correct position.
2. If the speed regulator of the electronic speed control system is improperly adjusted, you should refer to the instructions provided with the electronic speed regulator to correctly set the "gain" and "stable speed" potentiometers.
3. The speed regulating mechanism is out of control. Relevant authorized personnel should be asked to inspect it.
4. There is air and water in the fuel system, which should be checked and eliminated (replace the fuel)
5. The load rises and falls greatly and frequently, so the load should be controlled as much as possible.
J. The unit is running unstable and vibrating
1. There is water in the fuel system from air, which should be checked and eliminated (replace the fuel).
2. The air filter is blocked and the third filter should be replaced regularly.
3. There is too much lubricating oil, or the lubricating oil brand is wrong. You should check the lubricating oil level or replace the lubricating oil and filter to ensure that the correct type of lubricating oil is used.
4. The engine temperature is too high and the intake air temperature should not be higher than 40℃.
5. If the exhaust pipe is blocked (or the back pressure is too high), the back pressure should be reduced to make the engine exhaust smooth.
6. If the fuel injection pump (system) fails, please ask authorized personnel for maintenance.
7. The valve clearance is incorrect. The valve clearance should be checked and adjusted.
8. If the cooling fan is damaged, it should be inspected and repaired, and replaced if necessary.
9. The foundation of the unit is uneven and the installation position of the shock absorber is incorrect.
10. The operating conditions are severe and the engine enters the overhaul period ahead of schedule. The engine should be overhauled.
