Basic operation process of generator power generation:
Preliminary preparation:
Disconnect the mains power supply: Before starting the generator, ensure that the connection to the power grid is cut off, that is, disconnect the high-voltage switch in the distribution room and switch the isolation switch to the power generation position.
Turn off non essential loads: Turn off unnecessary electrical equipment to reduce the initial load when the generator starts.
Check the fuel and cooling system: confirm that the fuel tank has sufficient oil and that there is no oil leakage in all oil pipes and joints; The cooling system has sufficient water volume, is clean, and has no leakage. The tightness of the fan belt is moderate.
Check lubrication and electrical system: Ensure that the lubricating oil storage of the generator is in good condition and add sufficient lubricating oil. Check that the electrical circuit insulation is good, all instruments display normally, the wires are firmly connected and in good contact.
Safety inspection: All connecting components, fasteners, and control parts should be stable and free from any abnormalities such as looseness, detachment, or jamming.
Before starting:
Add fuel and engine oil (suitable for manual operation): If necessary, add an appropriate amount of diesel and engine oil according to the requirements of the generator model.
Evacuate air (for some fuel systems): If there is air in the fuel system, it is necessary to exhaust the air to ensure smooth fuel supply.
Start the engine:
Operation control panel: Open the cabinet door under the generator control screen, close the starter switch switch, check the display screen status, and prepare for startup.
Start the generator: Operate the start button or key in the correct order to start the internal combustion engine.
Operation monitoring:
Observe operating status: Once the engine is successfully started and the generator begins to output voltage, monitor whether parameters such as voltage, frequency, and current are stable within the rated range.
Load connection: After the generator reaches a stable working state, gradually close the switch and connect the pre prepared load circuit to the generator.
Shutdown operation:
Unloading load: Before planning a shutdown, cut off or remove the load one by one to ensure that the generator operates at low load for a period of time.
Stop the engine: Follow the instructions in the generator operation manual to stop the engine, usually by turning the start switch to "STOP" or the corresponding stop position.
Maintenance:
After cooling treatment: Necessary maintenance work such as replacing filter elements and discharging waste oil can only be carried out after the generator has fully cooled down.
Be sure to follow the operating instructions provided by the generator manufacturer for each step of operation to ensure safety and avoid damage to the generator. For fully automated generator sets, the start stop process may be completed automatically, simply set the mode and monitor its operating status.
