What is the working principle of a gas generator set?

The working principle of gas generator sets mainly involves the collaborative work of gas engines and generators, as well as the support of control systems and auxiliary equipment. The specific working process is as follows:

Gas supply. The system obtains gas from natural gas pipelines or storage tanks, and processes it through gas filters and pressure regulating valves to ensure the purity and appropriate pressure of the gas.
Fuel mixing and intake. Gas enters the gas internal combustion engine and mixes with air to form a combustible mixture. The intake process sometimes uses a turbocharger to compress the air, increase the intake density, and thus improve combustion efficiency.
Combustion process. The combustible mixture is injected into the cylinder, and under the action of the ignition system, it is ignited by spark ignition, producing high-temperature and high-pressure gas during combustion.
Mechanical energy conversion. The piston motion of an internal combustion engine converts linear motion into rotational motion through the rotation of the connecting rod and crankshaft, which drives the generator to rotate. The magnetic field interaction between the rotor and stator in a generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.
Power generation output. The alternating current generated by the generator is rectified and adjusted by the circuit, converted into stable alternating current or direct current, and then transmitted to the power grid or supplied to specific equipment, machines or buildings through cables.
In addition, the control system is responsible for monitoring the operating status of the generator set, controlling parameters such as gas supply and ignition time, to ensure the normal operation and emission standards of the generator set. Gas generator sets also have many auxiliary equipment, such as cooling systems, lubrication systems, intake systems, exhaust systems, etc., which are responsible for maintaining the normal operation and heat dissipation of the generator set.
